If you are looking for a way to help small local businesses, here's a good place to start.

Are you trying to keep count? It can be really, really hard to keep track of time during the coronavirus pandemic. Either time is going fast for you, or it's sloooooowing doooown. We did the math for you - it's been almost nine weeks since the lockdown started.

Yeah. Really.

Many small businesses (mostly restaurants, bars, etc.) attempted to stay open by offering curbside service or carryout. Unfortunately, though, it wasn't sustainable at the time. And with more and more people choosing to stay home, it just didn't make sense for all restaurants to stay open for any reason.

Many of them furloughed their employees; some of them temporarily fired their staff so that they could receive unemployment benefits. Others continued to serve take-out and give their employees as many hours as possible.

Either way, it's been a tough nine weeks...but there is a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel. Even though the "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order is extended to May 28th, a lot of businesses are back at it.

Personally, I am MORE than stoked that Nehring's and Starlite are opening back up. We love shopping at Nehring's because it's super close to our house and, well, Starlite is Starlite.
