Announcing the First Business in the Grand Blanc Marketplace
For some Grand Blanc residents, it's been a long time coming to see signs of progress at the new Grand Blanc Marketplace.
That's despite the fact crews have been moving earth, constructing new buildings and renovating the old Kmart to be inhabitable.

It's official, Five Below, the popular discount retailer puts up signage at Grand Blanc Marketplace.
Considering the property sat vacant as a former Farmer Jack and Kmart for several years, reasonable folks realize it takes a while to transform the property.
To be fair, the Farmer Jack area sat vacant far longer than the Kmart portion did.
Here's one last memory of what it looked like with a Kmart logo, in business, in 2011.
When will Five Below in Grand Blanc be open?
Right now, the property is still under construction but looks like it will take up a good portion of the former Kmart building.
Clearly, it's going to be a minute before a grand opening is announced.
But it's good to know that we're getting closer.
Five Below won't be open in time for Christmas Shopping.
While we won't be able to shop in time for the holidays, there's still the Miller Road, Flint Township location.
But that one is moving in the new year.

For the impatient folks, be glad this isn't still sitting vacant and becoming another blighted property in Genesee County.
We're looking forward to seeing which other businesses will announce their locations, soon.
