Curious What’s Coming to Flint at Miller and I-75? Hint: Not Food

Even if drivers haven't stopped at the new restaurant, they can tell it's popular based on non-stop traffic in the area.
For those with an eye for detail, they may have noticed a change next to the Applebee's sign in that same area along I-75.
The old blacked-out Lone Star Steak House sign has been covered by a white tarp. That made us curious.
What's coming to Flint Township near I-75?
We spoke with Flint Township's Economic Enhancement Director, Tracey Tucker, to pose that question.
It turns out another restaurant will not be coming in behind Applebee's. (Our dreams of a Bubba's Roadside Inn or Bennigan's reboot won't come true.)
Tucker confirms the property is owned by U-Haul, which expanded their Flint area operations by taking over the old KMart, next door.
U-Haul Flint continues to expand its footprint.
U-Haul will use the old Lone Star property to expand its storage offerings.
The company still maintains storage and truck rental operations at the intersection of Miller & Lennon Roads, too.
It's great to see their success warrants expansion in the area.
Look for a new U-Haul sign right next to the long-time Applebee's logo-in-the-sky, soon.
