He lost it almost 70 years ago, and on Monday, finally received his replacement.

89-year-old Flint native and Korean war veteran Burgess Loar received seven medals during his military career but lost them over the years.

In a ceremony on Monday at the medical facility in Shiawassee County where he lives, he was presented with replacements. Congressmen John Moolenaar, a Republican from Midland, and Dan Kildee, a Democrat from Flint, worked together (shocking, isn't it?) to get him those replacement medals.

During the ceremony, he also received the Army of Occupation, National Defense Service, United Nations and Cold War medals. Congratulations and thank you for your service, Mr. Loar.
