Two Once Popular Genesee County, MI Storefronts to Get New Life
It's great when long-closed storefronts around the Flint area see new life.
Especially when those storefronts used to be go-to, high-traffic favorites in their communities.

Remember the jingle "It's Always Savings Time" around Michigan?
The Flint area had a handful of Farmer Jack stores until that company went under in 2007. The buildings sat empty for years.
We also had numerous KMart stores in Genesee County from Grand Blanc, Flint, Burton, Clio and Fenton. We know how that ended, unfortunately.
An old Farmer Jack and KMart will see new life in Genesee County.
Many of Genesee County's KMart stores have been repurposed or, are in the process of being re-used. Except Clio.
That one is still empty.
Now, the former Farmer Jack on Lapeer & Center Roads in Flint and old KMart at Belsay and I-69 in Burton will have a new purpose.
CubeSmart has rehabilitated each building and is open for business.
The storage chain is based in Pennsylvania according to MLive. They focus on self-storage.

The company has numerous locations around the lower peninsula including Metro Detroit, Lansing and West Michigan.
These two locations mark the first for CubeSmart in Genesee County.
