It's the first time the Tigers have won a road series this season.  After a terrible beating at the hands of the weak-hitting Seattle Mariners last night, the Tigers rode the suddenly good pitching of Rick Porcello to beat the M's 3-2 this afternoon.

Porcello has looked good in his last two outings, going 6 and two thirds innings today while only allowing one run.  He picks up his first win of the season against two losses.  Ryan Rayburn smacked a long homer to center in the first inning to start the scoring for Detroit.  Miguel Cabrera and Brennan Boesch each drove in a run today, continuing their hot hitting.  Closer Jose Valverde made it a little more exciting than most Tiger fans would like in the ninth, giving up a solo homer and a double before striking out the side with several fastballs clocked in the upper 90's.  Detroit improves to 9-10 on the season, good for third place in the American League Central.  They will enjoy an off day tomorrow before coming home Friday night to begin a three game series with the Chicago White Sox.
