Fans Furious After Major Change To Detroit Tigers’ Scoreboard
For well over a century fans have been rooting for Detroit's baseball team. From the teams humble beginnings in the Western League when they played at Boulevard Park in 1894 to Detroit Tigers of today that have played at Comerica Park since 2000. Opening Day at Comerica Park is just around the corner, but fans are not thrilled with a change that was made to the park in the off season.

At the beginning of the 2024 season Comerica Park installed a massive new scoreboard. They left the legacy script 'Tigers' on top with it's magical ability to change from the team's colors to actual tiger stripes. While most fans were loving the changes to the scoreboard last year, this year's changes didn't go over so well.
Instead of the name Tigers towering high above the field it has been replaced with the name of the venue, Comerica Park. A local media outlet got footage of the change yesterday.

A statement from the Detroit Tigers said: 'The Tigers sign that previously sat atop the videoboard at Comerica Park had reached its mechanical end of life. With the added branding and video capabilities that have been created by the new videoboard, the sign will revert to its original display of the ballpark’s name, as is customary throughout ballparks in Major League Baseball.'
The Detroit Tigers' home opener is on April 4th. What do you think of the design change?
