Tigers Show Signs Of Life, Beat Rangers In 9th
In a game that went back and forth several times, the Tigers finally showed that they might still be a team to reckon with.
Miguel Cabrera delivered a clutch base hit with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th to drive home the Tigers 5th run in the 5-4 victory over the Rangers. The Tigers are now 4-7 on the young 2011 season, while the Rangers are 9-2. Same two teams play tomorrow afternoon at 1 at Comerica park. After that, the Tigers begin a 7 game road trip with stops in Oakland and Seattle. The win snaps a 3-game home losing streak for the Tigers.
A few more like this could turn the tide for the Tigers, who have started out the year finding ways to lose games they should win. On paper, this is a team that should be able to compete with anybody. Perhaps today was the start of something good.
