Who's got $3.3 million that they can loan me? I'll pay you back!

It was announced back in early November of 2018 that the Lowe's store on Center Road in Burton, across from Home Depot, would be closing.

The home improvement, big-box chain announced that they would be closing 51 underperforming stores, with one of those being right here in Genesee County. 20 of the stores were in the United States, with the remaining 31 being across the border in Canada.

The Burton location and the Flint location on Mansour Blvd. were the only two Michigan stores to close; yesterday, on the Burton City Chat Facebook page, user Thomas Trouten posted that the Burton store was listed for sale on a realtor's website.

It's being sold by Hilco Real Estate for $3,300,000. It's listed as a retail space with over 134,000 square feet of property. The listing describes it as, "a freestanding, single-tenant retail building located in Burton, MI, which is part of the Flint, MI MSA. The property has large facade signage visible from Court St. and a monument sign at the main Court St. entrance. There are two access points from Court St. and two other access points from the west side of the Courtland Mall. The Subject also has three loading docks at the rear of the building, as well as a fenced staging area for product."

What would YOU like to see go into the property? I'm biased; I'd love to see a Target take over but, considering that Target just down the street from it closed back in 2015, there's little-to-no-chance it'll happen.

I'm still sad about that, BTW.
