The City Of Flint Treasury department is helping Flint residents by waiving any late winter tax payments by the end of this week. The city has been dealing with its fair share of problems lately but this is a move in the right direction, especially when it saves money for Flint's residents.

Residents have until Friday, February 19, to pay without an extra fee.

Tax payments in the city were due on February 15, which was President's Day and many banks and businesses were closed.

City offices were closed Tuesday, February 16 because of a snow emergency.

Any opportunity for Genesee County residents to save money needs to be shared with others. This is just one of many programs that the current Mayor of Flint Sheldon Neeley has put into place to help with not only the current pandemic but the massive snowstorm we just got slapped with. With a lot of residents still being grounded due to the weather, this is a much-needed break for a lot of residents.

Late or not, nobody wants to get out in this cold. So hopefully by Friday, the weather eases up a bit so we can travel safely to pay Uncle Sam.
