Teacher’s Homework Policy Goes Viral – Do You Agree? [OPINION]

All I've gotta say is A-FREAKING-MEN!

Brandy Young is a 2nd grade teacher in Texas, and this is the letter that she sent home to students and their parents. The Godley School District, where she teaches, is part of an innovative program called The Leader In Me.

“Our superintendent really encouraged us to be innovators,” she told CBS. “Whether or not it’s popular, I just wanted to see if it would work. You can’t know if it’s gonna work unless you try it.”

AJ and I have a son who is going into 4th grade, and I'm not afraid to say that I'm shocked at the amount of homework he had last year. Every. Single. Night.

I don't have a great memory, but I'll tell you this much: I don't recall having this much homework in elementary school. Ever. It's a fight with our son every night to get him to focus on a half hour worth of homework, and that's not surprising. He's 9 years old!

It's a struggle. And I love this teacher's policy. What do you think?
