Some poor planning for a Canadian Hoedown led some Canadians to accuse Taylor Swift of taking their money without ever performing. The event was canceled and the money was gone. Apparently she was contracted to be the show headliner in 2012 at the Capital Hoedown Country Concert, and was well paid to do it - to the tune of 2.5 million. The event would eventually be canceled, but Swift decided to just keep the money even though she never performed

So, her not performing still left the ticket company to return more than 1.5 million back to ticket holders. Thus, the lawsuit against Taylor. Her representatives claim that the contract was made with the concert promoter and they would not comment further without seeing the legal action.
