And their food is great, too.

Last week, a fire ripped through the Burton Place apartment complex on Center Road, leaving many people displaced. Most of those residents are elderly, or have mobility issues.

Obviously, there are a LOT of heroes in this story - fire and EMS, of course. Two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion.

Once the residents were evacuated, they were brought to the senior center and given pizza and cold drinks from the American Red Cross and the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. On Friday, the folks at Flint's Starlite Diner brought over breakfast and fresh fruit for the seniors.

Just another example of our community coming together for those in need.
