The countdown to spring is on.

This weekend, Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 AM is Daylight Saving Time (there is no 's' on saving). Sure, we lose an hour - but who cares? It will no longer be dark at 6:00 PM and I for one am happy about that.

The official first day of spring is March 20th, with summer kicking off on June 21st. All in all, I do not think this has been a terrible winter in Michigan, but I am definitely ready for spring and warmer temperatures.

Obviously, the time change is a sign that spring is coming, but there are many other signs that spring is almost here. Have you heard any birds singing? Have you seen any daffodils popping up? Both are sure signs of spring.

I did see a guy at Aldi the other day wearing shorts and a pair of Crocs - if that isn't a sign of spring in Michigan, I don't know what it is. To me, seeing a fellow Michigander in this type of ensemble absolutely screams spring is coming.

It's 2022 so most if not all of your digital devices will reset automatically to reflect the correct time after the change. That being said, you know as well as I do that someone, somewhere on Sunday will be late for something and blame it one the time change. Nine chances out of ten, that person will be me.

A few years ago Chris Monroe did not show up to work for two days. He did not call, he did not text. When he finally did show up, guess what he blamed his absence on? You guessed it - the time change. Ever since then, Chris spends the night at the station when we spring forward to make sure he is on time the following Monday.

You can see his bed (couch) in the picture below.
