Saginaw Students Walk Out in Support of Student That Reported Sexual Assault
A group of students from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw walked out of class on Monday to protest the school's handling of sexual assault claims.
Why did Arthur Hill High School students walk out of class?
The students at Arthur Hill High School walked out and marched nearly two miles in support of a 15-year-old student that had been suspended after reporting an alleged sexual assault. The students are upset over how claims of sexual assault have been handled by the school district. They almost feel that their complaints fall on deaf ears.
According to a Facebook post, a student that attends Arthur Hill apparently reported an alleged sexual assault by another student to the school but that report didn't go over so well and both students were suspended. Yes, the student that reported the sexual assault was also suspended. The school claims that this is a normal procedure.

When did the students walk out of Arthur Hill High School?
The students walked out of Arthur Hill High School on Monday, November 29 at noon. It definitely wasn't a spur of the moment decision as the students planned the walkout over a week ago.
It was reported that someone pulled the fire alarm and the students simply walked out.
If their goal was to bring attention to whatever is happening at Arthur Hill High School, I think it's safe to say, they succeeded.
A school hearing for the students that were involved in the recent incident was expected to be held today.
This was posted right after Monday's walkout.
