It started off as a simple act of kindness. Kathleen Connors, a nurse in Vermont who had just made a little extra cash playing bingo, decided to pay it forward -- and picked up the tab for a nearby father and son who were having breakfast at a diner she frequents.
The rest, as they say, is history.
