Downtown Grand Blanc will now be home to Board & Brush in November. Billed as a "creative place for creating fun and unique wood decor projects from scratch while enjoying a fun instructor led atmosphere", the new business will set up shop on Grand Blanc Rd. next to Darby Tax, just behind Big Boy.

The owner isn't new to investing in the local community when it comes to owning a business. Liz Kalush-Degain, along with her husband Joe, are the owners of 810 Crossfit located on Embury Rd. The couple, both Crossfit coaches as well, love the local community and Liz is excited to bring something new to town.

"I just wanted to create a happy place to entertain, inspire and educate people in amazing DIY projects. There’s not much to do in GB and I have the ability to socially distance while creating an escape for people."

Degain discovered the franchise studio business through family. Her brother and sister-in law opened their shop in Bloomington, Indiana just this past January. It's becoming a family business of sorts. "It has been just an absolute pleasure to watch what they do and I feel privileged I get to do the same', said Degain.

Degain is hoping to open the new site the second week in November as long as renovations and licensing stay on track. That will bring some fun to downtown just in time for the holiday season.
