Even with the recent announcement of the mask mandate being lifted early, the CDC has announced that a new variant of the COVID-19 virus "Delta" has touched down in the U.S.

The last thing we need Is a new more contagious variant of covid-19. Especially while we're literally only a few days away from being back to full capacity.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Rochelle Walensky says she expects the delta variant will become the dominant coronavirus strain in the United States. The delta variant, first detected in India, has become dominant in Britain.

“As worrisome as this delta strain is with regard to its hyper transmissibility, our vaccines work,” Walensky told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday. She encouraged Americans to get vaccinated and “you’ll be protected against this delta variant.”Source:NBC25.com

The best thing we can do to prevent another shutdown is to stay focused on vaccinations. As contagious as the new variant is, the vaccine is potent enough to handle it. With that being said, I do know that vaccine hesitancy is still a very real thing in my area. I hear it every day, how most people still don't trust getting a vaccine shot and it's a conspiracy, blah blah blah.

Look people, the science is in. Consult your family dollar and get involved. The last thing you wanna do is catch covid, then hop on board. It's all about prevention.
