United Pet Group, which manufacturers dog chew toys under several brand names, has voluntarily recalled some of its products due to possible chemical contamination.

UPG determined that a quaternary ammonium compound mixture was used as a processing aid in plants in Mexico, Brazil, and Columbia. Dogs exposed to the compound may experience gastric irritation including diarrhea and vomiting.

The recall includes Digest-eeze, American Beefhide, and Healthy Hide products containing rawhide. Details on the individual products are here.
