COVID-19 protocols are in place and the Michigan Liquor Control Commission is not playing any games and has suspended the liquor licenses of three Mid-Michigan businesses including one in Flint.

I understand that we're in desperate times and small businesses feel like they don't have a choice but to open up. But with these suspensions being handed out, it's kinda like a death sentence.

The licensees’ multiple violations of the current Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Emergency Order on Gatherings and Face Masks include: allowing non-residential, in-person gatherings; providing in-person dining; and failure to require face coverings for staff and patrons.

On January 6, 2021, an MLCC Commissioner ordered the emergency suspension of the liquor license and permits held by Gibson Johnson Management, LLC d/b/a Minnie’s Rhythm Café located at 546 E. Larned in Detroit.

 

On January 11, 2021, an MLCC Commissioner ordered the emergency suspension of the liquor licenses and permit for C & H Enterprises, Inc. d/b/a Down the Tracks located at 2310 W. Court St. in Flint.

 

On January 12, 2021, an MLCC Commissioner ordered the emergency suspension of the liquor licenses and permit for Downey’s Lakeview Lounge, Inc. d/b/a Lakeview Lounge located at 640-642 Capital Ave.
