Discover The Beauty: Michigan Great Lake Most Beautiful In U.S.
It's hard to resist that shimmering glassy calm of the water surrounded by the beautiful natural surroundings a lake can offer. America is scattered with thousands of incredible lakes, but only a few can make their way to the list of the most beautiful around.
Travel + Leisure, our favorite spot for everything amazing in the world to see, compiled a list of the "11 Most Beautiful Lakes in the United States". As hard as it was to narrow the list down, the T + L team knew exactly what they were looking for to find the best of the best.
"With thousands of lakes scattered across the country, chances are good that you're no farther than a tankful of gas away from a great lake. But not all are created equal: some lakes won Mother Nature's lottery when it comes to natural good looks, so we've rounded up some of the best lakes in the U.S", they wrote.
Knowing what we know by living here in Michigan, and being called the Great Lakes State, it was almost a given that one of our amazing lakes would make the list.

What Michigan Lake is Considered One of the Most Beautiful in the United States?
Although Michigan has 11,000 inland lakes, and more freshwater shoreline than any other state in the nation, it was one of our 5 "Great Lakes" that stole the show. Ranked as one of the most beautiful lakes in America was Michigan's Lake Superior. Granted, we aren't the only state that can claim the body of water, we are pretty partial to calling it our own.
"The name speaks for itself: Lake Superior is the world's largest freshwater lake (by surface area). And there's a lifetime's worth of views around every corner of its 2,800-mile majestic shoreline. Natural attractions include the 200-foot sandstone cliffs, beaches, and waterfalls that tumble into the lake at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore; the sea caves on the Apostle Islands; and the isolated ruggedness of Isle Royale, with its wolves and moose. You can hike, drive, kayak, or take a ferry to your preferred destination. This lake is so vast it can feel more like an ocean — just ask the intrepid surfers of North Shore",T + L said about the selection.
Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a first-time explorer, set your sights on spending time enjoying the unparalleled beauty that has earned Lake Superior the esteemed title of the 'Most Beautiful Lake' in the United States. If you are feeling adventurous, check out these other lakes across the nation to rank the most beautiful here.
