A convoy of trucks is on its way down to Texas from Michigan to lend a helping...hay.

Matt Schaller from Hunt Farms, Inc. in Davison decided that he wanted to do something to help when he heard that a young couple had died after trying to save their cattle from the wildfires. The fires have destroyed more than half-a-million acres in Texas alone, along with Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado.

The trucks left on Friday morning, carrying bales of hay, fencing supplies and feed. All donations are from local Michigan residents and businesses, from Lapeer, Genesee County and more. One woman even packed a cooler full of food for the drivers on their 24-hour trek. Monetary donations will be used to purchase supplies after they've arrived.
