2023 Was the Worst Air Quality Year on Record

While 2023 was the worst year so far for Michigan air quality, fire season isn’t over, and 2025 could still take the lead. It all depends on weather patterns over Michigan and Canada. Fortunately, there’s a promising change on the horizon that could minimize or even extinguish some wildfires.

Storm System Could Bring Relief in 2025

Meteorologist Mark Torragrossa says a developing weather pattern over the next week could significantly help contain the wildfires burning across Canada. This system will affect wildfire-prone areas like Manitoba and Saskatchewan and could greatly reduce the amount of smoke reaching Michigan.
