Meet Marco! AJ’s Animals for June 10th, 2020 [VIDEO]
We are SO HAPPY to announce the triumphant return of AJ's Animals with the Humane Society of Genesee County!
It's been a few months, but we're back in the saddle. Er, the kennel. Whatever.
This is Marco. He's a 3.5-year-old domestic shorthair mix who was brought into the Humane Societ of Genesee County as a stray back in March. He's litter-trained and has NOT been declawed. He was fixed when he was brought to the HSGC and has no history of biting.
I can say this from personal experience - WHAT A SWEETIE! He loved being held, petted, and loved running around the Tabby Town room at the HSGC. He even enjoyed having his paws rubbed!
In case you didn't already know, black cats are two times LESS likely to be adopted than lighter-colored cats, and only half-as-likely to be adopted as their tabby counterparts.
In short, black animals (dogs included) are always less likely to be adopted because of the "bad luck" stigma.
Marco's adoption fee is $50. The Humane Society of Genesee County is taking appointments to browse the animals; you can make one by calling 810-744-0511. They prefer that you visit their website, geneseehumane.org, so that you have an idea of what you're looking for before you come in.
YES, YOU MUST WEAR A MASK. End of story.
Big thanks to Lin and the HSGC for letting me come in to start up my favorite morning show feature again! I can't wait to see you guys next week!
