We’re talking multiple counts here, including first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct, child sexually abusive activity, and even a domestic violence charge.

What a No Contest Plea Really Means in Genesee County

A no contest plea basically means he’s not admitting guilt, but he is accepting whatever punishment comes with it. And this is where things start to feel a little off.

As part of the deal, he’s asking for a minimum sentence of seven and a half years. Meanwhile, the Genesee County Prosecutor says the normal guidelines for charges like this are more in the range of eleven to nearly nineteen years. So yeah, there’s a pretty big gap there.

What Happens Next in the Linden Abuse Case?

If the judge goes higher than what was agreed to, Calcaterra does have the option to withdraw that plea. He’ll also have to register as a sex offender for life. Sentencing is scheduled for July 13 according to reporting from ABC 12.
