A once-popular retail store in Michigan is facing its final days.

Michiganders still love shopping, but 2023's retail landscape has dramatically changed with the rise of online shopping, making it a really tough industry to compete with.

Over the years we've witnessed countless companies go under including Kmart, Sears, and most recently, Bed Bath & Beyond who announced they were filing for bankruptcy earlier this year and closing stores for good.

What Retail Store in Michigan is Being Forced to Close?

When Bed Bath & Beyond announced they were closing 360 brick-and-mortar stores back in April, they also announced that 120 Buy Buy Baby (a subsidiary of Bed Bath & Beyond) stores would liquidate their stock and close their doors for good as well.

Buy Buy Baby will close all 120 of its stores as part of its parent company Bed Bath & Beyond's ongoing bankruptcy liquidation. This includes the remaining three stores that are located in Michigan.

According to CNN, earlier this month, a judge approved the sale of Buy Buy Baby's intellectual property for $15.5 million to Dream on Me Industries, a New Jersey-based designer and supplier of baby products. However, the deal did not include the company's physical stores. Unfortunately, those 120 stores will end up vacant, if not already.
