It's the most miserable time of the year. Daylight saving time ends this weekend.

Every year there is talk of ending this nonsense, but here we are in 2022, preparing to set our clocks back on Sunday, November 6th. Next week, almost everyone you know will be complaining that it is dark outside by 5:00 PM. Full disclosure, I am one of those people.

Why are we continuing to do this every spring and fall? Eventually, after a few weeks, we all get used to it, but in the beginning, it totally blows. It's hard to want to do anything after the workday when it feels like midnight outside at only 5:00 PM. Even stopping by a grocery store seems like a chore when it is pitch black out.

Unfortunately, we can't blame the time change anymore for being late for something the following day. Spoiler alert, our cell phones update automatically and the probability of you having an analog or alarm clock in your house as the only measure of time is few and far between.

Did you know there are only two states that do not adhere to daylight saving time? Arizona and Hawaii are your only two options for never having to turn your clock, watch, or alarms back ever again. The likelihood of you moving to get away from springing forward or falling back seems absurd, but the option is there.

Take advantage of what is left of daylight saving time. Not "daylight savings time" like every Midwesterner seems to say. It is almost time to hibernate for the rest of the fall and the upcoming winter months. See you in the spring.
