A major portion of roadtrippin' thru Michigan is the fun of coming across the old shops and stores.....and old gas stations. Many of Michigan's old fuel stops had one, maybe two pumps in front of a one-room building...and inside was everything else for the road: snacks, pop, and games for the kids to keep 'em busy in the backseat.

As the years went by, these little stops started to grow. Additions were implemented, unique architecture popped up, little touristy attractions were added (like antiques, live animals, and weird souvenirs) - all to make something that was usually not that interesting into a more interesting stop.

Michigan has definitely had some of the country's most colorful gas/service stations.
