Another great example of turning lemons into lemonade.

Ronald Wallace, Jr. graduated from Flint's Southwestern Classical Academy in 2017 and before he even walked across the stage to receive his diploma, he was already giving back to the community - he had planned a free football camp for kids in the community.

Obviously, with things being backwards and crazy this year, the Ronald Wallace Jr. Football Camp has been cancelled...kind of. Instead, they're planning several days of community cleanup, starting today.

They'll start their mission at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Pierson Road this morning at 10 AM and move south on MLK. They'll be meeting at the same place to clean up different parts of the area on July 31st, Aug. 7th and Aug. 21st.

Volunteers are asked to wear face masks while cleaning up; the city of Flint will provide gloves, trash cans and cleaning supplies for everybody.

What a great lesson to teach kids - as if the camp itself wasn't enough "good news," they've turned the pandemic into an opportunity for people to clean up our city.

We've said this before and we'll say it again - this is one of the most amazing, charitable cities that we've ever lived in. People go out of their way to give back and make Flint a wonderful place to live, and the only way to continue that is to teach the upcoming generations about investing in our community.

If you'd like to volunteer, you can meet on any of the above dates at 10 AM at MLK Jr. boulevard and Pierson road. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
