Katie and Robert Vanderlaan got their fostering license three years and were immediately contacted about two little boys, twin brothers, who needed a home. The agency called and said, "How about two for the price of one?"
They brought Isaac and Isaiah into their homes and, yesterday, they became a permanent part of the family. Judge Jennie Barkey granted the couple the adoption in Genesee County Court on National Adoption Day.
Four kids were adopted in Genesee County yesterday, bringing attention to the hundreds of local kids who need homes.
