Skipping Steak on the Grill? Try These 10 Great Flint Vegan/Vegetarian Dishes
If you're vegan or vegetarian, it can be difficult to find a meal you truly enjoy especially during a long summer weekend when everyone is bragging about their meaty grill skills.
When you go out to dinner around Genesee County and you're not Vegan or Vegetarian... you're a carnivore. Finding a great meal is seemingly easy. There are new places popping up all the time, like "I Love Pig" inside the Flint Farmer's Market or tempting favorites like Kathy's 126 in Flushing under new ownership.
This info should help.
Is there a difference between Vegan and Vegetarian?
Yes, there is a big difference. Admittedly, I'm not Vegan or Vegetarian, but completely relate to wanting a delicious meal. Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines each, like this:
Vegetarian : a person who does not eat meat : someone whose diet consists wholly of vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and sometimes eggs or dairy products
The difference between Vegetarian and Vegan also includes things outside of food.
Vegan: a strict vegetarian who consumes no food (such as meat, eggs, or dairy products) that comes from animals
also : one who abstains from using animal products (such as leather)

Are there any restaurants serving vegan dishes around Genesee County, MI?
Thankfully, yes. Some have a separate, extensive vegan menu, like Blondie's Food & Spirits on Hill & Torrey Road in Flint, Township. Others have a go-to dish that isn't an Impossible Burger. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but let's be empathetic for a moment... If every time I went out with my carnivorous friends and that was the only option, I'd get tired of it.
