Mid-Michigan’s Best Drive-Thru Holiday Lights Are Back and Brighter Than Ever
Mid-Michigan is glowing again for the holiday season, and whether you are looking for a cozy drive-thru experience or a walk through sparkling streets, there is no shortage of places to enjoy the festive spirit. Here are the top light displays lighting up the region this year.
Wilderness Trails Zoo Drive-Thru Lights: Birch Run
Now in its second year, the Wilderness Trails Zoo has brought back its massive drive-thru light show featuring more than two million lights. What makes this display unique is the chance to see real animals after dark. Many of the zoo’s nocturnal animals are far more active in the evening, giving visitors a rare look at their behavior.

As the zoo’s largest fundraiser of the year, all proceeds support animal care and improvements. The zoo is open for regular daytime visits until 5 p.m., and the light show begins at 6 p.m. nightly. Guests should use the side entrance on Birch Run Road. Admission is $15 per person or $12 each for vehicles with four or more passengers.
Magic of Lights: Pine Knob Music Theatre
One of Michigan’s largest and most popular holiday traditions is back as Magic of Lights returns to Pine Knob. This year’s drive-thru features oversized displays, animated scenes, and the famous 200-foot Enchanting Tunnel of Lights.
Highlights include the towering 32-foot animated Christmas Barbie, a festive dinosaur display, and the BIGFOOT® Monster Truck decked out for the holidays. Passes start at $25 and must be purchased online. Visitors can also enjoy the walk-through Reindeer Rest Stop for photos and extra displays.
Holiday Magic at Crossroads Village: Flint
Closer to home, Crossroads Village remains a must-see holiday tradition. The historic town glows with thousands of lights across its preserved buildings, creating a classic Christmas atmosphere. Guests can explore on foot, enjoy seasonal treats, and take a ride on the Huckleberry Railroad. Select nights also offer a drive-thru option for those who prefer to stay warm.
