'Hooman:' Can We Please Go to Dog Bowl Fest in Frankenmuth, MI?

When Memorial Day Weekend rolls around in Michigan, we think of heavy traffic headed Up North to open up the cabins, brave camping on cool (chilly) nights and honoring those who gave their lives for our freedom. In Frankenmuth, they do something that attracts thousands to town.

What is Frankenmuth Dog Bowl, Inc?

This year, Saturday May 27th and Sunday May 28th the city of Frankenmuth will be full of wagging tails, wet noses and paws for days... and their respective "hoomans," too.

It started in 2008 as an event geared toward fun stuff for dogs to do like diving, jumping, running, retrieving... and for a great cause.

The festival is part of Frankenmuth Dog Bowl, Inc. – a nonprofit organization that advocates for responsible pet ownership through educational programs and world-class events like the annual Dog Bowl! The nonprofit supports charitable endeavors such as police canine training programs to promote safer communities, defraying medical and adoption costs for families in need, and funding pet-related military and service organizations.

How much does it cost to enter the Dog Bowl Festival in Frankenmuth?

Big Dog Deal is $174.99. It includes a bunch of things for humans and canines, including a parking spot close to festival grounds.
Puppy Package is $74.99. You get a couple things for the pups and humans. Plus, better parking, but not as close as the Big Dog Deal package.

There's a Canine Cruise on the Cass River where you can bring one dog (per person) and get a paddleboat historical tour of Frankenmuth. Beware, if you are going to Frankenmuth during Dog Bowl, it will be crowded... but who cares when you see all those adorable pups, wagging tails and smiles. (Bonus: They'll also have hot-air balloons during this time, too.)
