Jeremy Wise and Callie Csercsa will each spend just one year in jail and serve probation after letting their one-year-old son drown in a bathtub earlier this year. The couple had been distracted while fighting, and discovered the boy lying face down in the bathtub on May 20th.

The Flint couple reached plea agreements in October, and were sentenced on Monday. Wise pleaded guilty to manslaughter while Csercsa pleaded no contest to second-degree child abuse.

The two were initially charged with second-degree murder and second-degree child abuse after leaving the boy unattended. M-Live reports murder charges were dropped when Flint District Judge Nathaniel Perry III ruled that the burden of proof had not been met.

What do you think of the couple's sentence? We welcome your comments below.
