Michigan State Police are warning residents about what to do if they encounter explosives after a disturbing incident over the weekend in Flint.

According to investigators, an active grenade was discovered in a vehicle near the Michigan State Police Post in Flint Township. The device was located in the North Gate parking lot close to the post at the intersection of Linden and Corunna Roads.

First, never touch or move any item that appears suspicious. Police stress the importance of leaving the object exactly where it was found and immediately calling 911. They also assure the public that trained bomb squad technicians are available to respond quickly and safely.
