Flint Grandmother Takes In 5 Grandchildren, Needs Donations
Her son, the children's' father, is incarcerated and the mother is in a halfway house.
Sandra Goss has done something that not everybody would offer to do - she's taking care of her five grandchildren, ages 11 months to 9 years.
Her house is infested with rats, there are holes in the walls, and she has a high water bill and taxes from the previous owner. She says that the house is currently in foreclosure.
She and the children are currently sleeping on the floor, and although she's turned to numerous organizations for help, she says that they've all turned their backs on her, and that it's impossible to raise her grandkids on a fixed income.
Community to the rescue - Northridge Academy has set up a GoFundMe for Sandra and her grandkids, and they're also accepting donations. They can be dropped off at 4100 W. Coldwater Road, Flint 48504 between Mon. through Fri. from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
