If you are in need of a job or know someone who is, McDonald's restaurants in the Flint area are adding a bunch of jobs.

McDonald's is going on a hiring spree throughout Michigan right now. The fast-food chain is getting ready to add 10,600 jobs in the state. Of those jobs, 620 are located in the Flint area and 250 are in the actual City of Flint. Nationwide, McDonald's restaurants are looking to fill around 260,000 positions.

In recent months, McDonald's has added almost 50 new safety procedures to help keep staff and customers safe amid the coronavirus pandemic. Some of the new procedures include:

  • Wellness checks
  • Social distancing floor stickers
  • Protective barriers at order points
  • Masks and gloves for all employees
  • Frequent cleaning of high touch surfaces
  • Closing of Play Places, and more

This year also coincides with the five-year anniversary of Archways to Opportunity, which helps employees with college tuition assistance. To date, McDonald's has given out over $100 million to help more than 55,000 workers with tuition assistance.
