If all goes well, we may see an end to the UAW strike against General Motors within the next day or so.

Day 10 of the strike brought big progress as issues that were being negotiated in subcommittees were elevated to the 'main table.'

Automotive analysist Paul Eisenstein tells WJBK that we could be on the brink of a settlement but then cautions that talks can easily break down.

"Considering they sent out this notice and everything else, they could possibly have something in the next 12 to 24 hours," Eisenstein said. "These sort of things can stumble and fall just like any racer at any moment. You can get really close and then it just doesn't come together."

Eisenstein cautioned that negotiations can sometimes break down over "a penny an hour."

Nearly 50,000 UAW members went out on strike on September 16th. Stike pay of $250 per week is roughly 20 percent of the average UAW worker's pay.
