Sebewaing , a small town on the southwestern edge of the Thumb sits on the banks of the Sebewaing River. The river connects to the Saginaw Bay. The river also has a history of flooding the town.
Village leaders worked with the Department of Environmental Quality, The Department of Natural Resources and the Army Corps of Engineers - spending about three hours triggering dynamite charges on Wednesday.
Less technical terms: They blew up the ice into chunks so it will flow..not rise. The cameras were there.
