The Detroit Tigers are now 4-0 in Spring Training baseball after beating the Miami Marlins today 3-1 at Jupiter, Florida. The Tigers didn't play all their normal starters (it was a split squad day), but got outstanding pitching from everyone that took the mound for Detroit. Rick Porcello pitched the first two innings and didn't allow any earned runs. Miami did score in the first, but the Marlins' only run came on a throwing error by 3rd baseman Danny Worth. After that, the Tiger pitching put up goose eggs. Drew Smyly and Casey Crosby each tossed two scoreless innings.

Austin Jackson had two hits today and drove in a run, Prince Fielder had a hit in three at-bats and Brandon Inge also had a hit in three plate appearances.

The Tigers will take on the Atlanta Braves tomorrow afternoon at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland.
