A Davison High School teacher remains in custody after being accused of video recording a naked 14-year-old girl at a Clio tanning salon.

The girl's mother called 911 after her daughter reported seeing an iPhone dangling above her as she lay naked in a tanning bed.

In a letter to parents (below) Davison Schools named Jacob Emmendorfer, a 43-year-old Physical Education teacher who has worked at Davison High School since 2005. The letter went on to say that the district and deputies from the Genesee County Sheriff's Department have conducted a thorough search of the high school where Emmendorfer has had access and found nothing.

In a press conference earlier today (video below), Sheriff Robert Pickell stated that his department is in the process of searching the suspect's house and vehicle and is seizing electronic equipment.

According to WJRT, the Sheriff's office is pursuing charges of possession of child sexually abusive material, video recording an unclothed person without consent and production of child pornography.

As indicated in our notification last night upon learning of the arrest of a high school teacher, we promised we would share more information once it became available.

At a joint press conference held this morning at the Genesee County Jail, Sheriff Robert Pickell announced that Jacob Emmendorfer was arrested following an incident that occurred at a Clio area tanning salon. Emmendorfer has taught physical education and health classes at Davison High School since 2005. Superintendent Kevin Brown participated in the press conference with Sheriff Pickell.

“As soon as Superintendent Brown learned about the event he was very concerned about the students at Davison High School where Emmendorfer was a teacher and he immediately requested that a search be made of the school, particularly areas where Mr. Emmendorfer had access,” Sheriff Pickell said.

Davison Township Police conducted an intensive search of the gymnasium, locker rooms and other areas and nothing was found. The District has been and will continue to fully cooperate with the police investigation.

Mr. Emmendorfer has been placed on leave and will not be allowed on school grounds. He remains lodged in the Genesee County Jail at this time.
