Congratulations, Courtney!

The daughter of a late, well-loved Flint Police Officer has graduated from Mott Community College's police academy, following in her father's footsteps.

Courtney Banks graduated yesterday, 10 years after her father passed away of a heart attack when he was off-duty. Clarence Banks had been with the Flint police for 23 years.

Courtney is 22-years-old and said that she wanted to "make a difference" in her hometown, so she joined the academy in January. She graduated yesterday from the 16-week program.

What a way to continue on a family legacy! Congrats, Courtney! You'll make Flint and your family very proud!
