Cedar Point Fans Speculate on Future of Current & New Coasters
So many questions and not enough answers.
As we approach another season of America's Roller Coast, many Cedar Point fans have a lot of questions about what the future will hold for the park. The biggest question that most are asking is what is going to happen to Top Thrill Dragster as it has been announced that the ride will be closed for the entirety of the 2022 season.
Back in August of 2021, a woman was seriously injured while waiting in line to ride Top Thrill Dragster. A piece of metal came loose from the ride and struck the woman causing her to end up in the hospital in intensive care. Top Thrill Dragster has been closed since the incident. After a six-month-long investigation, Cedar Point was cleared after no evidence was found that the park violated any state laws.
As we move into the 2022 season, many fans have begun to speculate what could happen with the park. Some say that Top Thrill Dragster will be torn down and replaced with something new. Others say that they will eventually reopen it. We don't really know.
Some fans have even gone as far as to design their own roller coasters that they would like to see at the park. The YouTube channel called Theme Park Predictions & More! has recently released a video of what they would like to see built at Cedar Point. They call their coaster "Monstrosity" which would be the world's largest B&M Giga coaster.
Who knows what the future holds for Top Thrill Dragster and Cedar Point. However, if you had the say so, what would you want to see at Cedar Point? Personally, after my trip to Universal Orlando in January, I would love to see something like the Velocicoaster or Hagrid's at Cedar Point. Those to coasters are badass!
