Flint Steel Drum Band Headed to National Competition

The Boys and Girls Club of Flint's Steel Drum Band is headed down to Chicago this weekend for a national competition called the Worldstrides Heritage Festival, and it's the second time they've taken the national stage.

The 20 members of the band range in age from 11-17, and they'll be performing all kinds of music this weekend: everything from Bruno Mars to Andy Narell. They've already performed in New York City, where they outscored the other bands.

How cool is THAT? We didn't even know that a steel drum band EXISTS in Genesee County. Not only that, but it's made up of KIDS! Love it!
