Amazing to see businesses that have been forced to close still giving back to the community.

Blackstones Smokehouse on Saginaw Street in downtown Flint, like most restaurants, closed to the public when the COVID-19 crisis started. Jerrid Heidel is the new owner; he bought it back in June of last year.

Even though they're closed, Heidel and his head chef are working every day to feed the healthcare workers at McLaren Flint and Hurley.

Altogether, they're pumping out about 800 meals per week. They're grab-and-go, so workers who don't have time to sit down and take a lunch break can still eat during their shift.

If you'd like to help, you can donate to their GoFundMe page. This will allow them to continue to provide food for workers on the frontlines.

Thank you, Blackstones!
