Technically, there are still a few weeks of summer left on the calendar, but in Mid-Michigan, Mother Nature is already letting us know that autumn will be here before we know it.

As we pack up our summer clothes and get ready for the colder temperatures, it's that time of year to think about corn mazes, picking your own pumpkins, and fresh donuts and cider. And luckily in the Greater Flint area, we have plenty of awesome options.

A few of them like Johnson’s Pumpkin Farm in Saginaw Township and Blake's in Romeo may be a drive, we’ll still count them as Mid-Michigan. However there are two major spots that have been making people smile for years that are easily accessible from Genesee County.

Flushing Farms in Genesee County

In northern Genesee County, Flushing Farms on Gillette Road in Flushing offers an incredible fall experience with something for everyone. From the three corn mazes with varying levels of difficulty, fresh cider and donuts as well as fresh vegetables, Flushing Farms has definitely become a local favorite. They also offer a petting zoo, bounce houses, fire pits, an obstacle course, and unlimited hay wagon and barrel train rides.

Spicer Orchards Near Fenton

Another local favorite is south of Flint in Northern Livingston County, but still has a Fenton mailing address. Spicer Orchard on Clyde Road is another great fall destination. In addition to cider, donut, and a great play area for the kids, they also have something just for adults, a winery! They also have a corn maze and other great attractions to enjoy.
