Baseball Testing New Rules to Speed Up the Game
Is this really such a bad idea? Let's be honest; it's not non-stop excitement for nine innings.Major League Baseball's pace-of-game committee (didn't even know that existed) has come up with six experimental rules to move the game along at a faster pace. They'll test them out during the Arizona Fall League, which runs from October to mid-November. The rules include:
-Pitchers must throw a pitch in 20 seconds
-Maximum break between innings in 2:05
-Teams have 2:30 to change pitchers
