A sweet effort to show his love turns sour on a Florida man.

Police in Dania Beach, Florida charged Anthony Brasfield faces charges after he released a dozen heart-shaped balloons. It was his effort to spread a little romance with his girlfriend. He released the balloons in the parking lot of a Motel 6. Only to find it was going to cause him grief.

He was charged with "polluting to harm humans, animals and plants under the Florida Air and Water Pollution Control Act". I'll bet he never saw that one coming!

Police apparently considered the balloons a threat to endangered turtles and birds who reside in a nearby park.
