You've seen them set up at a variety of locations throughout Genesee County and unfortunately donations are down right now. The Salvation Army is inviting the community to a free traditional Thanksgiving eve dinner next Wednesday from 4:30-6:30pm at the Salvation Army Beecher Corps located at 1475 W. Coldwater Road in Flint. Roughly 400 people attended last year, so bring your friends, family and neighbors because everyone is welcome to attend.

Friday, November 11th at noon the Salvation Army will kick off the 2011 Red Kettle Campaign with a special ceremony at their downtown offices in Flint. The local goal for 2011 will be announced then and light refreshments will be served. Last year, nearly 1 million dollars was raised to help families in need in Flint and Genesee County. The majority of the Salvation Army's funds come from the Red Kettle campaign, so they hope you can help when you see their bellringers.
