Salvation Army Bell Ringers Still Out in Genesee County [VIDEO]
You usually don't see a Salvation Army bell ringer or red kettle after Christmas, but this year is different. In Genesee County donations were at a 36 year low this year. The goal for this year's red kettle campaign was $800,000 and the Salvation Army says they are about 70% there so far. In order to try and get closer to their monetary goal, bell ringers will be out until Friday evening throughout Genesee County. WNEM reports that a large reason donations were down this year is because stores are closing and bell ringers are hard to come by this year. If the Salvation Army does not reach their goal some programs might have to be reduced. If you would like to donate to the Salvation Army of Genesee County you can click here.
